Our last.fm listening habits revealed

Recently I came across a desktop app called LastHistory that offers a visual representation of the plays (aka ‘scrobbles’) recorded for any last.fm user account. Naturally I ran our Kyanmedia profile through the analysis process.

Visual representation of Kyanmedia's last.fm scrobbles

The output really does offer some interesting insights into our listening habits and the program is very powerful. You can slice and dice the data in all kinds of ways – filtering the output by Artist, genre & time of day. A few highlights for me…

  • We mostly listen to rock in the morning and electro in the afternoon
  • However, we nearly always finish the day with rock
  • Our listening hours are increasing (so too our working hours?)
