Free Wifi in Guildford

I was asked by a friend today if I could recommend any bars/restaurants/cafés in Guildford where she could access free WiFi on her laptop. Besides Giraffe I wasn’t aware of anywhere else in town so I posted the question to Yammer in the office and received a number of helpful responses. It seems that Guildford has a reasonable selection of access points; so it made sense to collect them all on a single map.

I have made this map public for everyone to view. However, to maintain some level of quality control, I have restricted the privileges so only I can add new locations.

If you have used a free WiFi spot in Guildford and would like to recommend it for inclusion on the map then leave a comment below with the name of the place and I will make sure the map is updated.

I think McDonalds offers free wifi and Weatherspoons, also the delicous dougnut shop in North St. And apparently the cafe/bar at bottom of Casino nightclub.

Thanks for the suggestions Vicky. I have added them to the map. Ive not been able to confirm the Casino nightclub cafe/bar spot though so have left it off for the time being.

The White House pub by the river (8 High Street, Guildford GU2 4AJ‎) has free wifi, the code is drawn on a chalkboard in the pub.

"The Stoke", on stoke road does the free stuff as well, pretty good pizzas too (but you have to pay for them)

This is great, I am not local and found this very helpful. Does anyone know if there is anyone with free wi-fi and free parking in Guildford?

I shouldn't laugh at Karen's request - free parking? In Guildford?? If only...

Really useful map, thanks. If you haven't helpfully added the password (e.g. McDs or Rodboro), does that mean there isn't one or you don't find out until you're there?

Now that our new site is live, I can finally talk about development decisions we made. The site last had a makeover in mid-2008 so what we can do has moved on quite considerably, and we’ve tried to take advantage of that where possible.
