Kyan is 10!
Earlier in the year we hit an amazing milestone; 10 years in operation: 10 years of building webby bits; 10 years of working and playing hard.
10 years in the world of the web is a long time; 10 years ago there was no Facebook, no YouTube, no Twitter, and no iPhone. IE6 was the most popular browser and the most popular search query in the UK (according to Google, a new young pretender to the search engine crown) was ‘Prince Charles’. Flash was still in the ascendance, animated GIFs had no hipster-cachet and most websites still used tables for their layout.
A lot has changed on the web and at Kyan during this time. We have gone from the three founders, working in a sweaty cupboard in Cranleigh, to a staff of 21, now based at the top of Guildford High Street. We’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing people along the way, both colleagues and clients, delivered some great projects, learnt lots of lessons along the way and had a lot of fun doing so. The web continues to offer so many great opportunities and continues to excite us in new ways that we couldn’t have imagined back in 2003.
We knew we had to celebrate the occasion in style and booked a weekend away for everyone at Team Kyan, along with their partners at the wonderful North Cadbury Court, a magnificent Grade I listed country house that dates back over 700 years.
We spent a weekend drinking, dancing, eating, shooting guns, dressing up, shooting arrows, more drinking and more dancing, enjoying each other’s company and larking about.
A few notable mentions: Duncan’s crack shooting during the day, Al’s eyes, Helen for organising and sorting the weekend and a special mention to Bobbi ‘The Horse’ Crane for his crazee skillz on the dance floor.
Special thanks to everyone at Team Kyan, past and present for making the last 10 years whip by with a lot of happy memories and certainly not least an extra special thanks to all our clients who have believed in us and helped make it all possible.Tweet
