Blue Sky Education
Blue Sky are one of our longest serving and most valued clients. Based in Guildford, Blue Sky provide web-based performance management tools across the education sector. The current system has over 50,000 users and is accredited by the Association of School and College Leaders.
Blue Sky wanted to allow schools to track their staff members’ progress without the administrative burden of mountains of paperwork. We built them a fully-featured system that lets staff members enter and track their performance goals, and gives schools the management tools needed to efficiently track progress.

The challenge
Schools more than ever need to be able to understand, analyse and respond to the performance of their staff to ensure that their students are realising their potential. They need to do this efficiently, quickly and intuitively, so that they can focus on the teaching. Blue Sky had the vision to develop a web application to manage this.
The solution
Our solution was designed and built in Ruby on Rails. Its key features include an internal messaging system, alert notifications, document and video hosting on Amazon S3, a bespoke calendar, integration with Google Maps and much more. Full reporting for administrators is included as a matter of course.
The result
Blue Sky now has over 50,000 users, and the schools who use it have double the national average of Outstanding Ofsted reports. They regularly receive excellent feedback from their customers, and from this we can easily add new features as needed.
