Content Designer / UX Writer

We are looking for a UX savvy Content Designer to join our fast growing Design team to take responsibility for crafting and conveying purposeful content for our digital products and services.

Key areas of responsibility


  • Workshop design – Collaborate with the Strategy team and Client Services to create workshop activities that help gather useful insights from clients and target audience.

  • Empathise and connect with users – Understand the needs, goals, motivations and pains of the target audience by conducting competitor/benchmarking analysis, conversation mining, as well as user interviews and surveys. Help create personas and user journeys in collaboration with fellow UX Strategists.

  • Craft content – Create content style guides that help to easily communicate the brand, and its products/services tone of voice. Outlining principles for how copy and different content mediums should be crafted and communicated to create intuitive and delightful experiences. 

  • Create and prototype copy ideas – Using a combination of editorial and visual tools, collaborate in creating copy that explores possible options to best communicate the brand and/or part of a product/service experience. Contextually showing how copy can work visually in wireframes or high fidelity designed prototypes.
  • Test, evaluate and iterate – Choosing from a variety of testing methods such as User Interviews, Usability tests, and A/B testing. Evaluate how effective a brand tone of voice and copy, created for products and services performs. Using valuable feedback and insights to iterate and refine the user experience.

  • Support production – Work closely with Product Managers to help improve how problems and features are communicated when gathering requirements, to prevent possible confusion to audiences and business. As well as participating in the ceremonies of Product Development. Ultimately being the champion for user experience.

  • Develop thought leadership – Collaborating with the Marketing team to create and develop thought leadership content to help showcase Kyan’s wealth of experience and expertise to the world. Sharing how we approach solving problems, advocating sustainable ways of working, and exploring new emerging tech. 


  • A constant learner, passionate about your own professional development

  • An active listener, always remembering to putting the needs of users and business front and centre

  • Able to demonstrate an understanding and practice for User Research and User Experience Design

  • The confidence to facilitate workshops with different groups of varying personalities and skill sets when researching, testing or scoping for projects

  • Experience working on Agile and Waterfall projects, and knowing when it is effective to use one over the other to solve problems

  • The ability to use different research methods to identify the right language to use within a market of interest as well as clearly define intended target audiences 

  • An eye for visual design, having no problem identifying and communicating where language or copy needs to be refined or iterated to achieve an intuitive and delightful experience. Whether it be a brand's tone of voice, a wireframe prototype or a live product or service, using the latest editorial, visual design, prototyping, and testing tools

  • A solid understanding of design thinking and its application

  • The willingness to learn, note and develop expertise in a client's sector

  • The ability to prioritise multiple workflows, remaining positive and calm in times of pressure

  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal skills 


  • 3+ years working in a digital professional environment

  • Experience writing digital content for web and mobile platforms and applications, as well as conversion activities e.g. email marketing, social channels, and landing pages

  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams and agency partners such as Brand and SEO

  • Technically savvy and a good understanding of visual design and development practises
