Motul are a global motor oil company with a proud heritage and strong ties to the world of performance motor racing, they are long time sponsors of Moto GP.
The previous Motul website was built on a custom Ruby On Rails Content Management System, which was powerful but was underperforming in delivering their online offering as the site was unresponsive and out-of-date.
Motul approached Kyan due to our dual specialisms of Ruby expertise and inhouse design capabilities, we worked with the previous digital consultant and inhouse technical team to entirely refactor the CMS and build a completely fresh experience on the back of the existing architecture. This resulted in an entirely fresh, modern front end without having to dismantle the good work already carried out.

We built powerful components for the custom Content Management system that enabled the Motul admin staff to create rich content elements for the website without external help.
It's a social world
The Motul global family is very active on social channels, and motul.com reflects this. The website features a rich stream of social media integrations from all of the major platforms as well as a few country specific channels which add to the overall global appeal of the website.
A global site for a worldwide business
The website featured a large amount of localization and globalisation features, the entire product database of over 4000 line items was internationalised with country specific packshots and product lines. Different content was served to different countries based on complex geo-localization factors.
The outcome is a great-looking, highly functional world-class website that vastly improves the Motul online presence and gives the brand the global gravitas that it deserves.
