AI automated identification and tagging that helped to scale the business

Bright are an agency representing illustrators and authors, licensing their artwork globally. Their team manages incoming artwork from artists, uploading assets to their platform and tagging images so that agents and clients can discover and licence their creative.

An operational bottleneck
As it stood, one member of staff would manually tag 400 to 1,000 new images a week from a list of around 600 keywords. A slow and repetitive process.
The net result was an operational bottleneck in the business that drove up costs and stagnated growth.

AI-assisted tagging to scale Bright's global illustration licensing workflow
Kyan built a new AI-powered tool to automate visual tagging.
As new images are received, powerful computer vision suggests tags and matches them to existing keywords. We kept 'human in the loop' to ensure quality with one-click reviews. And this got even smarter, learning from human approvals and rejections so the system becomes even more autonomous over time.
This cuts tagging time per image and improves consistency, allowing Bright to scale its process and drive cost savings.

We continue to be delighted with the work and relationship we are building with Kyan. Its one of the most positive things we have done.
