Questions
North Star vision, answered straight
A North Star vision is a clear, shared picture of what your product should become and why it matters to users and the business. It gives every team the same point to steer by, so strategy, design and engineering decisions pull in the same direction.
A North Star concept turns that vision into something tangible, typically a designed concept of the future product experience. Seeing it makes the vision far easier to understand, test and rally stakeholders around than a strategy document alone.
The North Star is the destination; the roadmap is the route. The vision stays relatively stable, while the roadmap sets out the steps and priorities to get there and changes as you learn. We use one to shape the other.
The people who will make decisions against it: leadership, product, design and engineering, informed by what you know about your users. We run strategy workshops that bring these perspectives together so the vision is shared, not handed down.
